Our Yearling Beef is sourced solely from our syndicate of Hunter Valley Beef farmers – direct from the farm, with the majority coming from Farmer Paul’s Teralba Park property in Gresford. Farmer Paul is Co-Founder Murray’s dad and it was Farmer Paul’s previous predicament of being unfairly underpaid for his prizewinning stock that was the catalyst for Country Meats Direct to start trading in July 2014!
Every time you receive a delivery of Grass Fed Yearling Beef from us, as with all our other products, you will be informed as to the specific farm it came from.
Unlike traditional retailers we cannot supply you with an unlimited amount of any cut you wish as the way we sell our beef is solely governed by the fact we are buying whole animals straight off the farm – not carton meat from a wholesaler. Buying this way is all about embracing the philosophy of ‘Nose to Tail’ eating. You then benefit from the fact you know where your meat comes from, that it was ethically treated and that the farmer has been fairly remunerated for their work.
Our yearling beef animals are processed between 10-18 months of age, depending on their growth rates. Being true yearling meat & 100% Grass Fed & Grass Finished means that the meat carries significantly less intramuscular fat which means you should cook it for shorter times and let it rest for longer for best tasting results.
Hunter Valley Grass Fed & Grass Finished Yearling Beef’s flavour is distinctly different to grain fed beef which is mainly what is available at retail and we are sure you will love it!
